Steve Magami has led a career as a financier building public and private companies where he has served as Chairman, President, and Director. He has invested in and financed companies on behalf of global institutions and conducted over $1 billion in transactions. Steve is a Partner of Gulf Capital Partners, a merchant bank whose principals have conducted over 100 transactions in a wide variety of industries. He focuses on advising cleantech/sustainability and agriculture-related companies, on financings, M&A, recruiting (world-class board members), and business development where he provides unique access in rapidly growing emerging markets. Steve also focuses on acquiring businesses that are distressed and in need of capital and operational turnaround, or in the process of undergoing change where he can leverage his network and expertise to improve a company's outlook and create value.

Steve is the co-founder of two publicly-listed renewable energy companies, which he helped build and closed 10 financings for during the most difficult markets since the great depression. Pure Biofuels Corp. is one of the largest biodiesel companies in the world and Stratos Renewables Corp. is the largest agriculture-based energy project in Peru. He was formerly a Partner of ARC Investment Partners, a merchant bank focused on financing emerging markets-based companies. Previously, Steve was a Principal at Lovell Minnick Partners, a $800 million private equity firm focused on the Financial Services industry, managing funds for global institutions (Goldman Sachs, GE, and others). He played an instrumental role in building portfolios totaling 20 companies through buyouts and growth capital and venture investments yielding realized IRRs in the in the highest decile within the industry. He started his career as an investment banker advising large buyout firms on industry roll-up & consolidation strategies.

Steve is currently Chairman of the Board of Stratos Renewables Corp. and a member of the Board of EMQ Children's Services. He has previously served on the boards of other public and private companies, including Pure Biofuels Corp., ALPS Fund Services Inc., Westcap Investors, LLC, AssetMark Investment Services (observer), and Broadmark Asset Management, LLC. Steve is an active supporter of various charitable and non-profit organizations and is a Founding Member of Gen Next, an invite-only, nonprofit organization.
