William H. Lyon is President and Chief Operating Officer of William Lyon Homes. William Lyon Homes was founded in 1954 by his father, General William Lyon. The company currently builds attached and detached homes throughout California, Nevada, and Arizona. Their combined companies have produced more than 100,000 residential units spanning a history of more than 55 years.
Bill H. Lyon joined William Lyon Homes in November 1997 and has been a member of the board of directors since January 2000. Positions Bill has held prior to being named President of William Lyon Homes include Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager, Director of Corporate Development, and Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. Bill was also named President of the subsidiary mortgage company, William Lyon Financial, in 2008.
Bill has served on the Board of Directors of Pretend City Children’s Museum since 2005. In 2008, he became Board Chair. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Governors of the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana.
Bill earned a dual Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Product Design from Stanford University in 1997.
Bill is a life-long resident of Newport Beach, California, where he and his wife, the former Christina Gibbs, reside with their two children, Angelina and Alexander.
