Rick Bach is based in San Diego and has oversight for Turner’s Southwest region which includes the San Diego, Phoenix and Southern Nevada business units, which combined perform over $400 million in construction annually Rick is responsible for sales, operations and in these units, Project types include healthcare, education, high-rise residential and hospitality. Prior to this, Rick started and managed Turner’s Logistics subsidiary, which is responsible for the purchasing of materials and equipment for Turner’s$10 Billion annual operation. Preceding this, he was the Operations Manager for Turner’s New York Business Unit, which performs $1 billion of work annually. In that capacity he was responsible for all construction operations, staff development, EEO and labor relations. Rick was the Principal-in-Charge of the 45-story Bear Stearns new Corporate Headquarters facility at 383 Madison Avenue, the 1 Liberty Plaza, World Financial Center and Winter Garden Post 9/11 Reconstruction, and the 300 Madison Avenue project, all for Brookfield Financial Properties.
Since 2002 notable San Diego projects under Rick’s leadership include the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego, and currently the San Diego Regional Airport Authority Terminal 2 $500 million expansion, UCSD North Campus Housing and the 22 story Affirmed Housing project at Ten Fifty B.
In addition to construction operations, Rick is responsible for leading the implementation of a new integrated information system for the company which will replace 14 stand-alone and antiquated applications with a single, new ERP platform. This is a $40 million initiative which will involve total process re-engineering within the company.
Rick is on the Board of Directors of the ACE Mentorship Program, the Downtown San Diego Partnership Board of Directors, the Building Industry Association Urban Council, the Board of Consultors for the Manhattan College Civil Engineering Department, The Englekirk Center at Jacobs School for Engineering at UCSD Board of Advisors, and he serves on the AGC government relations committee.
