Since merging Amerisource Bergen in 2002 and departing the healthcare industry, Martini has spent time pursuing multiple passions …being a father to his young daughter (now 9), professionally racing cars and traveling the world.
In late 2007/2008 he partnered up with former New Century and Cerberus residential real estate executives to establish TAAC, LLC (Troubled Asset Acquisition Company) to work in the distressed residential real estate market. Since that time they have acquired and managed numerous mortgage pools totaling over 5000 loans and $200 million in UPB, through a specialty debt servicing company they also have a minority percentage ownership in.
Most recently they have had former CEO of New Century join their partnership to continue working toward their ultimate goal, which is to create a Newco in the prime non-conforming market. They are committed to helping “finance the future homeowners in America” that the government has little time to understand and finance.
On the personal side, during 2002-2007 Brent raced endurance cars professionally in the Grand Am Rolex Series, the IMSA Porsche SuperCup Series and, Grand Am Continental Tires series, winning several championships along the way while garnering significant sponsorship from companies like Girard Perregaux Watches, Putnam Car Leasing, Wheel Enhancement, Rx.com, and Red Bull. While he still has fabulous personal cars in the garage, racing ended in 2007 with a 6th place at the 24 Hours of Daytona in a Porsche GT3. Since then the shoes have been hung up.
Due to his continued passion, Brent launched Racing Sport Concepts (www.rsctuning.com) a manufacturer and distributor of high-end performance and aesthetic parts for high-end European automobiles, based in Miami. Launched in 2007 they are now the “go to” tuning company for Lamborghini and Aston Martin and have enjoyed four months of record sales and growth in 2011.
Lastly and most importantly, Brent “retired” and made a decision not to go back to the corporate grind, so that he could support attention and focus on his most important priority - his daughter Eliana.
Not working full time has allowed Brent to pursue being actively involved in the classroom and school community. He is involved in the Laguna Beach Public System, looking for ways to “have our kids get a private school education in a public school system”…
This began with spearheading the accelerated funding and rollout of SmartBoards in all El Morro classrooms, and most recently has included significant involvement with the same for SuccessMakers software/hardware program for all classrooms in the Laguna Beach elementary and middle schools. He is also involved in the School Nutrition Committee where we are working with school officials to bring healthier nutritional choices to all children while contributing to improving the economics for our school district.
Beginning this year Brent accepted the invitation to become a SchoolPower Trustee, to more formerly work toward cooperative goals of the schools and parents through the Trustee Annual Charity activities/giving program and on-going Endowment fund.
Brent currently lives in Laguna with partner of 8 years, Wendy Nicholson and his daughter Eliana.
