Following successful careers in both news and sports broadcasting and corporate communications, Beth Binger (Regional Executive Committee Member of Gen Next)found the perfect fit in the public relations profession when she founded BCI a decade ago. Her passion for learning, outgoing personality, and professionalism are ideal for public relations, and have allowed her to successfully garner international media coverage for each of the firm's clients.
When Beth founded BCI, she made the strategic decision to keep the business multi-disciplinary, currently serving clients in diverse fields such as aeronautical engineering, real estate (mixed use, commercial, and high-rise residential), high-technology, and hospitality. This challenge and diversity that feeds creativity and creates synergy between clients. Additionally, working within various industries illuminates best practices worldwide that can be brought to BCI clients, states Beth.
As a former news writer and anchor for regional affiliates (San Diego and Alaska), Beth is well versed in how to communicate newsworthy features to mass audiences. Her year as a collegiate snow ski racer later offered her an opportunity with ESPN, the Entertainment and Sports Programming Network. She served as a sports commentator, and hosted and produced World Cup surfing and skiing events for ESPN. One 30-minute program received a local Emmy nomination from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). She has also worked in corporate communications for the international real estate enterprise, TrizecHahn.
Beth received her bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of California, San Diego. While a student, she was awarded a scholarship by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS).
Beth works with various non-profits on a regular basis. She has also taken a leadership role with the University of California, San Diego Alumni Association where she is past President of the Association's Board. In that capacity, Beth regularly met with state legislators, lobbying on behalf of higher education and funding for student scholarships for academically-gifted candidates. Currently she serves on the Board of Governors for the University Club, a private business networking club downtown, and is a member of the San Diego Women's Foundation, a purely philanthropic organization.
