Yuri Vanetik (Gen Next Board Member and OC Executive Committee Member at-large) is a private investor, philanthropist, and political coalition builder.
Yuri is the principal of Vanetik International, LLC, a management consulting firm. In the past, he served as executive within the financial sector, and advised boards and principals of public and private companies on capital formation, marketing, acquisitions and dispositions, and other strategic planning matters. Presently, he serves on corporate boards, boards of non-profits, and political organizations.
Yuri began his legal career, practicing corporate law with Kirkpatrick & Lockhart LLP, in Pittsburgh, PA. Subsequently, he served as founding partner of Iger, Koehler & Vanetik, LLP, a law firm specializing in corporate governance, counseling boards of publicly traded companies and representing independent directors, and committees on which they serve. Generally, his legal practice and experience has centered on corporate combinations, and finance.
He began his entrepreneurial career in the technology space, and subsequently transitioned into finance and venture capital. In the finance industry, Yuri organized and served as principal of a group of institutional and retail funds, making investments in fixed income products and private equity transactions domestically and abroad. He currently serves as advisor to several financial institutions domiciled in US and abroad.
A sworn peace officer, Yuri is Commissioner of the Orange County Sheriff's Council, and a distinguished member of and Sergeant in the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department Special Services Bureau, and Los Angeles Sheriffs Department Professional Advisory Council. He is also a member of Advanced Disaster Action Team for San Bernardino.
Yuri serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of American Red Cross (Orange County). Recently, he served as State of California Co-Chair for the Rudy Giuliani Presidential Campaign, and as All American Vice Chair for Rudy Giuliani Presidential Campaign, and subsequently was selected to serve on Senator McCain's Kitchen Cabinet. He was appointed to the Homeland Security Council for Region 1, and serves there on the Board of Governors.
Yuri is a Lincoln Fellow at the Claremont Institute in California, and Trustee for the Kennedy Center National Symphony in Washington, DC. Recently, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed Yuri to serve on the California Criminal Justice Council.
He holds membership and board seats in numerous civic/political and community organizations. Some of these include: Gen Next, Claremont Institute, Heritage Foundation, CATO Institute, Sheriffs Foundation, Law Enforcement Alliance; the RNC Regents, Capital Hill Club, American Conservative Union, Center Club, Pacific Club, and the National Rifle Association (life member).
Yuri resides in Southern California. He is fluent in Russian and English, and proficient in Spanish and German.
