Chad Horning (National Board Member and Regional Executive Committee Member of Gen Next) founded Chase Merritt, a commercial real estate investment company, in 2005. Under Chad's leadership, Chase Merritt has acquired and developed a commercial portfolio valued at more than $400 million.
Chad previously served as the President of Newport Federal, a real estate investment company. Chad joined Newport Federal in 1992 and was named president in 2002. During his tenure as President at Newport Federal, he acquired Telluride Ski and Golf Resort "Telluride" and approximately $300 million in real estate. He was Chairman of Telluride since its acquisition and was named CEO of the ski resort in 2005. Mr. Horning has extensive experience in a number of industries outside of real estate.
Prior to joining Newport Federal, he owned and managed Merritt Industries a company specializing in commercial lighting and retrofitting. Chad also developed Newport Federal Financial, a California finance lender that specializes in hard money lending while at Newport Federal. During his presidency at Newport Federal, Chad remained an active member of the Southern California chapter of YPO (Young President's Organization) from 2002 through 2005.
